30th September – Rotherfield vs Wadhurst United

Wadhurst looked a side to be reckoned with after their 7-0 victory over Langton Green FC two weeks ago.

They hit the ground running at Rotherfield and went 1-0 up after only 2 minutes and 2-0 after 15. Our team had to work hard as Wadhursts forwards were both accurate and very fast.

After some rearrangement in the midfield the second part of the first half was more like the Rotherfield tem with some nice flowing play and positive passing Jamie opened with a great goal. Dexter equalised for us a few minutes later and then we hit the net 3 more times before half time with a spectacular goal from Tim, Dexters second and Louis got his seasons first.

The second half was very physical with both sides battling for the ball with Wadhurst striking back with some great high passing opening our defence up and allowing their quick forwards to finish well. Ollie excelled in goal and saved some fine shots as we tried to keep Wadhurst at bay. Even Luke was having to run faster than ever to keep the ball out of our goal but 15 minutes into the second half we had conceded two further goals. Louis struck back with an excellent run through the Wadhurst defence and finished with a superb goal.

Two more goals from Wadhurst saw it all square at 6-6 with 10 mins to play but Rotherfield had the run of play and Jamie finished off with a great goal with 5 minutes to go.
