11th November – Rotherfield vs Rusthall

We were a little concerned at the start of the game as only 11 players could play today and we had no substitutes at all. The game stared well with good play from both sides. Rotherfield opened the scoring with a nice high pass through from Ollie for Jamie to run on and score. Some good passing from midfield and another excellent run enabled Jamie to score a second. Conner and Luke both worked hard in defence using thier speed to keep the Rusthall forwards at bay. Luke narrowly missed the goal with an excellent header from a corner and was unlucky not to score. Just before half time Matthew got the final touch in a goalmouth scrabble to make the half time score 3 - 1. Early in the second half we conceded a free kick from outside the area and Rusthall scored an excellent goal with Ollie having no chance to save it. We recovered quickly and played very well as a team with everyone playing well but both Luke and Jamie showed excellent control and skill. Jamie found the net again in the second half and Harry's powerful shot took us to a well deserved victory.
